This superb Big Colt DA is in factory new, mint condition throughout. The etched panel is perfect. Revolver throughout is as new as antique gun can be. Finish is absolutely 100% except for extremely minor peeling on face of cylinder. Revolver has never been fired. Screw heads have never seen a screwdriver. Grips are as new. Hammer retains all of its original fire blue. Cylinder has no tracking line. This DA is essentially as it left the factory in 1881. It is cased in a unique, original, factory style case with red felt interior and two full boxes of .44 ammunition. Additionally, is an extremely rare factory combination takedown tool for the 1878 DA revolver. This superb gun was originally sold by legendary Colt authority and dealer Herb Glass Sr. in May of 1987 where he states it came from a Connecticut estate auction. This revolver is the best of the best and would be the centerpiece of any 19th Colt cartridge or DA revolver collection. CORRECTION: Barrel length is 5-1/2".
