Only 4,000 to 5,000 of these Mills Violano-Virtuoso music machines were made, this version with a piano included was made after 1912. It is a stunning piece of work featuring one interior light, a 4 panel front glass divider and a sleek tiger stripe oak cabinet gleaming with brass hardware. There are 44 inner piano keys with the viola magnificently sitting at the center, all four strings still nicely attached. Invented by Henry. K Sandell, the Violano-Virtuoso also plays perforated music rolls. The song program has songs such as Cross Your Heart by DeSyvlia. "Designated by the U.S. Government as one of the 'Eight Greatest Inventions' of the decade." as read on the interior plaque. Minimal wear, seen only at the base. Overall in very beautiful condition.
