Lot contains: (A) Enlisted Luftwaffe visor cap, and (B) Officer Luftwaffe overseas cap. (A) Golden yellow (flight or paratrooper) piped visor cap in overall excellent condition. Blue gray wool, black woven wool center band, and piping have no visible damage. Black leather chinstrap with black painted oval buckles and visor, have very light damage. Aluminum eagle and wreath are originally applied, and are in excellent condition, with wear to the black finish of the raised portions of the cockade. Cotton lining is very good to excellent with the sweat shield present. Lining is marked "Siegfried Frank" with a date of 1938 and in size 53. Sweatband is intact with only very minor damage. Sweatband is marked "Fl Ausb Regt 41" for "Flying Training Regiment 41" and "Ubungsstelle Frankfurt a/O." for "Training Site Frankfurt on the Oder River". (B) Luftwaffe overseas cap made by "Berolina" in 1941, in overall very good condition. Cap is an enlisted cap which has been upgraded to an officer cap with the addition of hand applied silver bullion piping, and eagle, and a cockade. It is not known when the cap was upgraded, but the aging on the cap and insignia indicate they have been together for a very long time. Gray cotton lining exhibits wear and staining from being worn.
