Features ramrod, three barrel bands, two leaf folding rear sight in high polish blue finish, and sling swivels on middle band and front trigger guard. Left side of stock and barrel are stamped "NJ" for New Jersey militia. Lock is stamped "US COLTS PT FA MFG CO HARTFORD, CT". Springfield eagle on bolster and 1862 date on action and breech of barrel. "VP" proof on left side of barrel. Buttplate is stamped "US". CONDITION: Excellent to near mint condition; finished in the white. Near mint, strong, clean rifled bore. This is a fine example of a US Colt. These Colts are nearly identical to the Springfield Model 1861 rifle.
