Nicknamed the "Record Player" by Red Army soldiers, the Russian DP-27 started its service trials in 1927 and was entered into Soviet military service in 1928. The DP-27 was the standard Soviet infantry light machine gun, and saw much use in Soviet aircraft and tanks during World War II. This DP-27 was assembled from a Russian parts kit. The dummy receiver is constructed of solid aluminum. Russian pan magazine shows Finnish "SA" property stamps. CONDITION: Metal components retain majority of blue finish showing minor areas of wear, while the receiver retains the majority of its black finish. Stock retains majority of its applied varnish, showing few handling and storage marks. MW
