Fitted with 22" blued barrel chambered for .45-70 cartridge and marked with "V/P/(Eagle)" proof marks. Mounted with front blade sight and rear carbine "C" marked sight modified to only go up to 400 yards. Walnut carbine stock with U marked front band, saddle ring, and US marked trap butt. retaining 3-piece cleaning rod. Blued trigger guard, "US/SPRINGFIELD/1873" and Eagle marked lock, and early type hammer. Case hardened receiver with "US/MODEL/1873" marked low arch breechblock. CONDITION: Good. Metal retains portions of finish with significant amounts retained on lock, hammer, and trigger guard with other areas exhibiting a soft gray/brown patina. Stock sanded with added varnish over bruises and scattered indents. No stock cartouche visible. Good bore with strong rifling and some corrosion. Crisp mechanics. BAS
