Hammer side by side shotgun made by Joseph Manton, England circa 1870. Fine Damascus steel barrels with smooth concave rib marked "J. Manton and Company Fine Damascus Steel". Full coverage scroll engraved action with exposed hammers and double triggers marked "J. Manton" on each lock. Walnut checkered pistol grip stock with steel grip cap and smooth steel buttplate. Walnut checkered splinter forearm with latch release. CONDITION: 30% Damascus scene with balance fading to a silvery patina. Action has faded to a silvery patina. Wood has checkering that has been freshened with added coat of finish. Bores are pitted with action worn to a little less than tight lock up. Mechanics are good. DLM
