Lot consists of: (A) WWI P17 helmet marked "HS 57" on the interior rim. The helmet retains its original American style liner which is secured to the helmet by the leather chin strap and US style chinstrap bales. CONDITION: The helmet exhibits almost all of its original paint with a few scattered chips and scratches. The liner is intact and the leather chinstrap is cracking. Overall very good. (B) WWI P17 helmet without the liner and no visible markings. The front of the helmet is painted with the 3rd Infantry Division insignia. The leather chinstrap is secured to the helmet by US style chinstrap bales. CONDITION: The helmet appears to have been repainted as there are two tones of paint visible. There is one significant nick on the painted insignia. Leather chinstrap is cracking. Overall fair. (C) WWI Mark I helmet with British style bales and missing liner. CONDITION: The helmet retains most of its paint with some scratches and scrapes. Overall fair. (D) WWI British Mark I helmet with M1917 Kelly helmet conversion. The helmet has a M1917A1 liner that is secured to the helmet by WWI British style chinstrap bales. CONDITION: Helmet is missing about half of its paint and appears to have been repainted several times. Leather components of liner are cracking. Overall fair. (E) WWII British helmet with incomplete liner. CONDITION: Helmet retains almost none of its paint, rusting interior, chinstrap is worn. Overall poor. JD
