Winchester 3rd Model 1873 lever action rifle made by Winchester Repeating Arms Company in 1893. Rare 30" full octagon barrel with sheared blade front sight and adjustable rear buckhorn (missing elevator) with King's Improvement and Winchester address on barrel. Madis states that 1 in 600 rifles had longer than standard barrel. Blued third model frame with plain trigger and blued full tubular magazine. Walnut plain stock with trapdoor crescent buttplate and plain forearm with blued nosecap. CONDITION: Metal has faded to a brown patina with areas of surface rust and corrosion. Wood has dry appearance with chip missing behind right side of action and screw missing out of action. Gun has pitted bore with hammer spring not functioning. DLM
