An estimated 700 units were manufactured circa 1861 to 1862 during the Civil War with an improved central hammer design. Standard .44 caliber 7 - 1/2" half octagon barrel with 2-line address, German nickel front sight, frame notch rear, 6-shot percussion cylinder, and 2-piece smooth walnut grips. CONDITION: Very good. Traces of original finish are retained with balance a gray patina with evidence of cleaned light pitting. Grips are good having light impressions and a chip at the left toe. Very fine bright bore and crisp mechanics. Matching serial numbers observed on frame, cylinder, loading lever, and grips. PROVENANCE: Ex. Rich Guckes. BAS
