C. 1950's United Airlines DC-7 Mainliner promotional desk model. United Airlines ordered 57 DC-7s which were delivered in 1954. Constructed of aluminum, the DC-7 is decaled with standard 1950's United Airlines colors and logos. The N-Number "N6301C" is decaled on the tail. The aircraft entered service with United Airlines in 1954 but had a relatively short service life due to the eclipse of the Jet Age and was later sold to BMR Aviation in 1963. The plane is also mounted on a matching aluminum stand which is painted red, white, and blue. The model measures approximately 14 - 1/2" tall when straightened with a 28 - 1/2" wingspan. All 4 propellers are present and are constructed of silver painted plastic. The decals exhibit areas of peeling and cracking, some of which are only partially legible. Colors remain vibrant with scattered fading. Smooth texture. Scattered scratches throughout the wings and fuselage. DC-7 and base wobble when handled. A presentable desktop model. Overall good.
Condition: (Good).
Item Dimensions: 26 - 1/2" x 28 - 1/4" x 14 - 1/2".
