Large Circa 1950s Trans World Airlines Lockheed L-1049 Super Constellation promotional display model. Constructed of aluminum, the L-1049 is painted and decaled with standard 1950s TWA colors and logos. This model is decaled with rectangular windows, which would correctly identify it as an L-1049, as the L-749 Constellation featured circular windows. One of the Primary customers for the L-1049 was TWA, who ordered 14 when they were first introduced. The N-Number "N6908" is decaled on the wing. The model is solid aluminum and is mounted on a black painted wood stand. The propellers are clear plastic simulating rotation. Underside of the fuselage is marked "1049" and "129". The model is angled to simulate take off on the stand and measures approximately 13" at its tallest point with a 33" wingspan. The model presents well with clear and legible decals. Colors mostly remain vibrant with slight fading. Decals exhibit slight loss in areas but are mostly intact. There are scattered chips and cracks in the paint. Propellers exhibit edge wear. Stand is solid and plane exhibits only a very slight wobble when handled.
