Sizeable Circa 1950s Pan American World Airways Douglas DC-7C Clipper Seven Seas aluminum display model. Pan American ordered 26 DC-7C’s, including the freighter version in April 1956. Constructed of aluminum, the DC-7C is decaled with standard 1950s Pan Am colors and logs. The N-Number "N731PA" is marked on the right wing and tail. This number was actually the N-Number for the DC-7C "Clipper Bald Eagle". The aircraft entered service with Pan American in 1956 but had a relatively short service life due to the eclipse of the Jet Age. These models were quite popular among travel agents, hotel lobbies, and airline executives. The plane is also mounted on a matching aluminum base with a metal ball bearing which allows the model to be tilted as if it were flying. The model measures approximately 15" tall when straightened with a 30" wingspan. The decals and paint exhibit scattered loss in some areas as well as several chips and blemishes. Several dings and scratches to the aluminum. Missing all 4 propellers. An impressive model which would make a great conversation piece. Overall good.

Condition: (Good).

Item Dimensions: 28" x 31" x 18".
