AGS CERTIFIED #10129. DST. Sign is Maker Marked Passaic Metal Ware Co., Passaic, New Jersey and shows a copyright date of 1913. An incredibly early and well displaying example of Gasoline & Motor Oil advertising from Red Crown Gasoline & Polarine Motor Oils showing "Summer & Winter" graphics with excellent script throughout. CONDITION: Side one displays very well overall showing very good color & gloss in the inner field with excellent condition graphics. Side one shows some minor surface scratches in the inner field with some heavier paint wear at the upper field as well as lower left. The upper edge shows two added nail holes for hanging with limited outer edge wear throughout, (Score 80). Side two also shows very good color & gloss with some moderate surface wear and light rust in the inner & outer fields as well as some minor discoloration in the lower blue. Side two shows minimal surface scratching as well as some light areas of edge wear throughout all sides but overall displays very well, (Score 77). A well displaying example of this incredibly graphic piece of early Red Crown advertising.
