AGS CERTIFIED #10248. DSP. A very rare and highly sought after Sign from Clipper Gasoline showing iconic Airplane graphic with unique script & colors. A product of Independent Petroleum Company, Portland, Oregon. CONDITION: Side one shows very good color & gloss throughout but shows excessive surface scratching throughout the field. Side one shows one area of touch up and repair at and below the "PE" of Clipper that is approximately 6" in diameter. The outer edges show minimal chipping with moderate chips at the mounting holes, (Score 76). Side two also shows very good color & gloss throughout but also shows excessive surface scratching throughout the field. Side two shows one small chip in the upper field with one heavy chip at the lower left. Side two shows some moderate chipping at the mounting holes as well as some light areas of chipping along the outer edge, (Score 75). Although the piece shows some significant surface wear it retains excellent colors and overall displays excellent.
