Trout mezzo that features a 15" brook trout on a wooden oval plaque that measures 18" x 11". This famous method of preserving trophy fish was patented by John Waldo Nash of Maine in the early 1900s. Written below the fish is "Nash of Maine / Pat'd. Apr.21.1903". The back has brass hanging wire attached to brass loops nailed to the plaque. Written on the back in a worn section reads "Restored by Julie Ann Footer / David A Footer". On the rear right side in cursive pencil reads "Nash, Norway, Maine". Metal tag on rear has the numbers 5594. CONDITION: Excellent condition with having been restored and painted.
