A fine cased pair of English percussion belt style pistols made circa 1840 by John Blissett of London, England. 4 - 1/4" twist steel pattern octagon .54 caliber smoothbore barrels with attached belt hook and blade front sight with "J. BLISSETT 321 HIGH HOLBORN LONDON" address on top barrel flat and hinged attached folding ramrods. Fine floral pattern engraved case hardened actions with single trigger control. Fully checkered walnut grips with silver thumbpieces. Comes in green felt lined maker style walnut brass trimmed case with bullet mold, original cleaning rod, balls, and cap. CONDITION: 80% remaining twist scene on barrels with balance turning a silvery patina. Actions show 20% original case colors with most in protected areas. Walnut grips exhibit slightly worn but highly visible checkering with no breaks or visible repairs. Shootable bores with crisp mechanics. Case has some scuffs and dings with crack on edge of lid with felt fading and area of missing maker's label. A great set of English gentleman's pistols. DLM
