Lot of 2: E. Howard open face pocket watches with wooden cases. (A) 14k yellow gold 54mm E. Howard & Co., Boston, Mass., movement #304213, series VIII, size N, 15j, circa 1890. Hand engraved case with foliage and engine turned pattern, marked "WP&H, WARRANTED 14K, 424897." Dial with some chips to outer edges and 1 and 9 o'clock. Gross weight 146.2 grams. Paired with later E. Howard wooden case. Running. (B) Yellow gold filled 47mm E. Howard Watch Co. (Keystone), Waltham, Mass., swing-out movement #1157285, series 7, model 1912, 12s, 17j, circa 1912. Crescent case marked "Extra" with hand engraved monogram to back cover. Gross weight 55.3 grams. Paired with period E. Howard wooden case, numbers not matching. Running.
