A wonderful Black Forest example depicting a distinguished looking owl perched on a square rocky plinth. Well modeled, carved in deep relief, has unvarnished finish and nice patina. Large glass paperweight-style eyes, hinged head, with a silver metal inset liner with hinged lid, missing the porcelain insert. CONDITION: Great detail and patina, non-offensive small chips to the ends of both ears. A great example of an early Black forest dimensional inkwell.
Condition: (Excellent).
