DSP. An excellent example of this early and seldom seen C. 1930's Porcelain Service Station Sign from Gulf Gasoline showing early shadow style lettering as well as bright Gulf colors. CONDITION: Side one shows outstanding color and gloss throughout the field showing minimal areas of light surface scratch in the blue porcelain as well as one small touchup at the lower portion of the "U" in Gulf. The outer field is very clean and the outer edge shows only a couple of minimal nicks as well as some very minor touchup at the top two mounting holes, Grade 8.9+. Side two also shows outstanding color and gloss throughout the field but shows some moderate surface scratching in the blue as well as orange. Side two shows a small factory flaw in the "L" of Gulf and the outer field is excellent showing a couple of light touchups along the outer edge and mounting holes, Grade 8.9. An outstanding and glossy example of this scarce sign from Gulf Gasoline.
