Traditional post-war configuration of the Colt .38 Super, with low profile sights with serrated ramp front sight, flat top square notch rear sight, serrated small parts, narrow hammer, long grip safety, serrated and arched mainspring housing without lanyard loop, short trigger. Gun is covered in approximately C (75%) grade engraving of well-cut floral scroll, with vignettes left for serial number and Colt's patent and address information; correct Colt Super .38 Automatic rollmark with "COLT" and the Rampant Colt is inlaid in gold. The engraving is unsigned, and a detailed examination of the frame only reveals the serial number as any marking. Housed in a correct Colt woodgrain box with a matching serial number on bottom and containing paperwork and cleaning tools. CONDITION: Overall excellent, retaining virtually all of the bluing, with some very minor handling marks, possibly shop wear. Slide is plumbing, while frame still retains excellent blue toning. Mechanically fine, bore with visible rifling, softened. Visible grease on internals. Box is very good with some rubs on interior. A very attractive example.
