3rd model manufactured circa 1895. Factor polished blue finish with a 30" round barrel chambered in .44-40 with blade front sight and ladder rear. Plain walnut musket forend retained by 3 bands. Straight-grip walnut stock with tool trap steel butt plate. Complete with an incorrect cruciform socket bayonet. CONDITION: Very fine. Barrel has faded to a mottled dove-gray patina. Receiver retains the vast majority of its lustrous original blue with some scratching and cleaned oxidation spots, especially on bridge and dust cover. Hammer and lever retain traces of mellow case colors. Stocks are fine, with some scattered impressions. Bright bore showing strong rifling with a few imperfections. Mechanically fine.
