Fluted jacket Vickers water cooled machine gun as registered by Charles Erb with his attractive "bullet" logo on the left sideplate to the right of the serial number. Original number on top of water jacket "A4925" places this gun as manufactured at the Erith manufacturing plant during World War I; nice! Rear sight has "flip-up" anti-aircraft sight. Lock is Australian manufacture. Unarmored commercial muzzle with original chain and retention pin. Drain plug also present on gun with original chain. Additional accessories include a reproduction brass steam condenser hose fitting, steel 1-piece cleaning rod, another drain plug with cork & chain, a broken case extractor, and 2 different packets of packing string. A reproduction belt box holder is also included. The gun comes with its own contemporary custom built wood transit chest. Makes it very nice to store and transport to/from the range. Electronic NFA registry indicates “ERB, CHARLES" as the manufacturer of this gun. CONDITION: Overall appearance and finish is very good to fine original blue finish on the corrugated water jacket thinning to a gray/brown patina. Backplate also original finish thinning to a pleasing gray patina with attractive oak hardwood grips.
