Circa 1960-70s, with 4 - 3/8" saber and hollow ground upswept trailing point blade, etched "DELAWARE MAID" on the front. Slanted brass quard. Stacked leather washer handle, with 4 finger grooves, black, cream, and red fiber spacers on both sides, and bird's head shaped aluminum alloy pommel. Original molded, folded, and sewn riveted leather sheath with belt loop, marked "B B AAA 8 A" on the back. See similar early Delaware Maid knives on pages 12-13 in "Living on the Edge-Logos of the Loveless Legend" by Weyer & Williams. CONDITION: Very good, with some original crossgraining from grinding visible near spine, light freckling in scattered areas, and evidence of cleaning throughout. "Delaware Maid" etching on left side is faint but visible. Handle shows appropriate wear and handling marks from use, but no major cracks. Sheath is complete with tight stitching and retains its molded shape.
