Made by Colt Firearms in 1890. Gun is fitted with what appears to be a rare factory-blued 9-1/2" round "38 W.C.F." marked barrel fitted with standard blade front sight and marked with Colt's single-line address. Case-hardened black powder frame with matching serial numbers on receiver, trigger guard, and butt, with blued backstrap and fire-blued screws. It has a blued and fluted cylinder. The gun is fitted with period bone grips. PROVENANCE: Richard "Dick" Burdick Collection. CONDITION: 90% original barrel, cylinder, and backstrap blue with light handling marks, fading to a silvery blue with edges turning silver. 90% fading case colors on the frame with fire blue on screws still showing. Cylinder showing light turn line. Good grips with a fire-blued screw. Good bore with visible rifling; good mechanics with all 4 click positions. PROVENANCE: Richard "Dick" Burdick collection.
