Circa 1910. Brilliantly polished blued 7 - 1/2" barrel with 1-line address and "45 COLT" caliber marking. Blade front sight and frame notch rear. Case hardened smokeless frame stamped on the left with 2-line patent date encircled rampant Colt. Blued trigger "VP" proofed trigger guard. Nitre blue screws and checkered trigger. Grips are 2-piece checkered hard rubber with rampant Colt trademarks. Housed in a hinged lid black box lettered "Colt" on the lid in gold. An included letter from the Colt Archives notes no records are available for this serial number. PROVENANCE: Richard "Dick" Burdick collection. CONDITION: Excellent. 99% original brilliant blue retained on the barrel with only faint silvering at the muzzle and some scattered handling marks throughout. Cylinder has some light some light silvering along the high edges, as well as a ghost turn line. Some very minor wear present at the backstrap heel and toe. Frame colors are bright and strong, the hammer and loading gate are starting to fade. Trigger and screws retain nearly all of their bright original finish. Grips are likewise excellent. Mirror bright bore displaying razor sharp rifling. Matching numbers observed on frame and grip straps, the cylinder is unnumbered. Box has some losses to outer layer of paper along with some tape residue but remains good overall. An outstanding gun.
