According to the Colt Factory archive letter, serial number 89112 shipped as a .476 with a 7 - 1/2" barrel, blue finish, and rubber stocks. It was shipped to Colt's Patent Firearms Co., London Agency, 14 Pall Mall in London, England, on October 22, 1885 in a shipment of 100 guns. Single line barrel address "COLT'S PT. F. A. MFG. CO. HARTFORD, CT. U.S.A. DEPOT 14. PALL MALL LONDON." on top of the barrel. Caliber mark on the left front trigger bow ".476 / E". 3 line patent dates on the left side of the frame. Matching serial numbers on the frame, trigger guard, back strap, and on the inside of each grip. The last four numbers of the serial number are on the bottom of the barrel under the ejector housing. The last three numbers are on the back of the cylinder. Assembly number (355) is on the bottom of the frame and on the loading gate. British proof marks on the bottom rear of the barrel and behind every flute on the cylinder. Engraved on the back strap is the name Capt. I.A.L. Wainwright. It comes in a fitted case with nine rounds of .476 ammunition. There were 161 Single Action Armies made in this configuration and they were all shipped to England. PROVENANCE: From the advanced collection of the esteemed and respected Dr. Jim Watson of Scottsdale, Arizona. CONDITION: This gun shows traces of the factory applied blue finish in the protected areas. Traces of case color in the protected areas on the frame. The back of the hammer shows quite a bit of nitre blue. Eagle grips show some slight wear. Good bore with well-defined lands and grooves. Case is in good shape showing some slight wear from storage.
