Manufactured in 1874 with 7 - 1/2" barrel chambered in .45 Colt with blade front sight, single line barrel address with correct serifs on either side, and frame notch rear sight. Ejector rod housing has correct bullseye ejector rod head and early barrel stud. 1 piece original walnut factory grips with small "A" sub-inspector marking on bottom of left grip panel. Left grip panel is marked with "S S S" marking. Markings include "U.S." marking on the left side of the frame and "A" inspector marking of O.W. Ainsworth on major parts. Matching serial numbers observed on barrel, frame, trigger guard, butt, and cylinder. Accompanied by a Kopec letter dated February 12, 2002, authenticating it as totally original. PROVENANCE: From the personal and advanced collection of Dr. Jim Watson of Scottsdale, Arizona. CONDITION: Good, with finishes worn to a gray patina with freckling throughout and visible bluing on ejector rod housing in protected areas. Grips are very good, with small crack on right grip panel toe. Mechancially fine with all 4 hammer stops. Bore is dark with visible rifling.
