Made by Winchester Repeating Arms in late 1886 in the first year of production, serial number 3129. Plain 26" blued octagon factory Winchester Steel barrel with Winchester 2-line address, marked "40-82 W.C.F.", with full-length blued tubular magazine. Standard front sight with buckhorn rear sight. Case-hardened solid frame receiver with plain trigger. Standard configuration walnut stocks with case-hardened crescent steel buttplate. Factory research confirms options. CONDITION: 70% fading barrel blue with light freckling with 20% remaining action colors. 70% original varnish. Handling marks and dings overall. Good bore with visible rifling; crisp mechanics. A nice condition, early 1886.
