A No. 39 double-guard brass-top bellbottom lantern made by C T Ham. "D.&H.C. Co." is nicely embossed on the lid reflector. The brass top shows a few minor dings. The entire lantern frame has light surface rust. The bayonet base is correct for this model and has a No. 1 ratchet burner affixed. The clear No. 39 extended base globe is nicely embossed "D&HC Co." in serif font and in above-average relief. There is little evidence of railroad use on the globe.
