An 1895 patent double-guard wire-bottom made by the Adams & Westlake Co., with the correct bayonet fount and No. 2 ratchet burner. "B&O. R.R." is nicely embossed on the lid reflector. The No. 39 flashed red extended base globe is embossed "Macbeth" at the top fitter, and nicely embossed "B&O RR" in above-average relief. Color translucence is good. There are a few minor rim flakes. The frame was cleaned long ago, and shows light surface etching and a medium patina with an overcoat. One of the vertical legs is bent near the bottom wire. The lid latch spring tip is missing.
