An early fixed-globe lantern, manufactured by Sangster, in a unique configuration shared by Erie and its affiliates - with single horizontal guard and bracelet bail. The plug-in fount is an acceptable fit, but is not original to the frame. The large flashed red double-ring globe is nicely embossed "NYLE&WRR." The globe is broken just above the lower fitter ring, about 75% around, and there has been some kind of repair to the glass, poorly done. The metal condition of the lantern frame is very good, with a nice medium patina and very little rust noted. Several of the vertical guard wires are loose and need to be re-soldered.
