An 1873 pat, Adams & Westlake No. 39, single guard, chimney bail, bellbottom lantern made for the Detroit Lansing & Northern RR. "D.L & .N.R.R." is nicely embossed on the lid reflector. This model has the sliding globe holder in the chimney and is correctly intact. The brass top shows significant damage and an amateur repair. There is much original tin plating showing, and it appears to have been lightly wire-brushed (?). The bayonet base is correct for this model and has a No. 1 shrouded burner affixed. There is a very light A&W patent stamp showing on the underside of the base. The clear, No. 39 extended base globe is not RR marked.
