A Thompson's patent, double-guard, fixed-base bellbottom lantern made by the Taylor Manufacturing Co. of New Britain, Connecticut. "Fitchburg R.R." is nicely embossed on both the lid reflector and base fitter skirt. "15211" is stamped into the chimney cap. The bail saddle does not have the Thompson's patent stamp that is sometimes found there. The plug-in fount unit is tin and has a proper fit, but this model usually has a glass fount. The lantern shows a nice clean patina. The signal green, 6" extended base globe is a real beauty. "F R R" is heavily embossed in large serif font. The globe shows good color translucence and little evidence of RR wear. This is a real nice unit.

Condition: (Excellent).

Item Dimensions: 6" x 6" x 11 - 1/2".
