A nickel plated, No. 39, single guard, brass presentation lantern made by the Steam Gauge & Lantern Co., but not hallmarked. "No 39" is stamped into the base underside. The lantern shows heavy tarnish under dirt. There is asymmetric stove damage to the bayonet base that could be straightened by a competent restorer. The lid latch spring is missing. The globe is a beautiful, hand-blown, blue-over-clear example, and is nicely copper-wheel-engraved "Thomas Ashdown" in old English font and bracketed by floral end decoration. The globe has a fire-finished bottom fitter and a ground top fitter. There is one small flake off of the inside of the top fitter, otherwise the globe is excellent +.

Condition: (Very Good).

Item Dimensions: 6" x 6" x 11 - 1/2".
