An early Thompson's patent model made by the Taylor Mfg. Co. of New Britain, CT. The bail saddle does not have the Thompson's patent stamp on the side. The securing screw is seated in a threaded ferrule on top. "FITCHBURG R.R." is beautifully embossed on both the lid reflector and skirt. The plug-in glass fount assembly is correct for this model and has a no. 1 ratchet burner affixed. The 6" clear globe is nicely embossed "F R R" in heavy relief.
