An early Thompson's patent model made by the Taylor Mfg. Co. of New Britain, CT. The bail saddle has a faint Thompson's patent stamp on the side. The securing screw is seated in a dimple on top. "FITCHBURG R.R." is beautifully embossed on the lid reflector. This early model does not have an embossed skirt. The glass fount assembly is correct for this model and has a damaged no. 1 ratchet burner affixed. The clear globe is a standard New England barrel and is not RR marked.
