A flat steel guard wire-bottom brass-top model made by M. M. Buck & Co. of St. Louis. "M. P. R. R." is nicely embossed on the lid reflector in serif font."16137" is nicely stamped in the lid reflector to the left of the marking. The bayonet fount is correct for this model and has the full M. M. Buck patent stamp and has a No. 1 ratchet burner affixed. The clear No. 39 extended base globe is nicely embossed "M. P." in serif font and in average relief. There is a hook crack in the globe behind the right seam, not too distracting. The lantern retains original patina with a lacquer overcoat.
