A late-model, fixed globe, unguarded engine lantern made by the Kelly Lamp Co., of Rochester, but not hallmarked. There is a removable glass fount with no. 1 "pick wick" lard tube affixed. The metal pieces show old black paint and some surface rust. The clear globe is nicely embossed "B&ARR" in serif font. These lanterns were used in engine service long after the standard RR lantern evolved into a removable globe style. This is a real nice example.
