An early fixed globe lantern with bracelet bail made in a unique configuration for the ERIE and its close affiliates. The manufacturer is unknown but suspected to be Porter. The large, flashed red globe has top and bottom fitter rings and is beautifully embossed "NYLE&WRR" in smaller serif font. The plug-in fount is stuck and won't come easily. It has the usual shrouded Sangster burner affixed that is an ERIE standard for these lanterns. The lantern shows a nice tight brown patina. One of the six vertical guard wires has come loose but is intact, including the top solder cap. Overall, a really nice, old, and rare lantern.
