British Sten MK V machine gun on a Taylor Manufacturing registered receiver tube. Magazine housing marked "STEN Mk5" as well as "M/78". This gun includes an original wooden detachable stock, bayonet with scabbard and web hanger, as well as 1 original 32-round magazine. The Sten machine gun is a very simple and straightforward machine gun made mostly of metal stamped parts. It was far less costly and quicker to produce than any of the previous submachine guns the British had fielded, and were produced in great numbers for World War II. The MKV model tended to be the best made and most attractive of the different Sten models, and the collectors market seems to prefer them as well. CONDITION: Overall appearance and finish is extremely fine refinished smooth dull grey-blue finish with some thinning and some light pitting under the refinish. Wood of stock and handgrip is extremely fine, very clean and attractive. Bayonet is extremely fine to near excellent. Bore of gun is extremely fine to near excellent. Bolt face is extremely fine. Mechanics are fine. This is a select-fire machine gun. A very attractive gun made more so with the addition of the bayonet and scabbard. THIS IS A NATIONAL FIREARMS ACT ITEM AND REQUIRES BATF APPROVAL PRIOR TO TRANSFER. THIS ITEM IS FULLY TRANSFERABLE ON AN ATF FORM 3 OR 4. JWK 2023-12-15
