23 - 7/8" monobloc barrels with a red fiber optic front sight on a raised island, U notch rear sight with low-visibility enamel paint on quarter rib; 2 sections of the file cut matting are screwed in and can be removed to mount a scope rail. Lightly dressed with wriggle work at the blocs, and gold inlaid "FAUSTI-ITALY" over left chamber. Underside of barrels with caliber designation, Fausti USA import mark, and modern Italian nitro proofs; barrel flats with CU proof for 2019. Flat bottom forearm with lightly schnabeled tip, checkered in a point pattern, and fit with an Anson plunger. Case colored sidelock action with restrained engraving of florals and acanthus scroll on a stippled background, bottom with the Fausti device in a scroll device, highlighted in gold, and "FAUSTI / CLASSICO"; signed "L. MUFFOLINI" on trigger plate. Nicely sculpted fences with deeply set striker heads nda diminutive fishform cocks with tall cocks. Blued trigger guard protects double triggers with long tang that extends down to steel grip cap with engraving en suite, and serial number on tang. Pistol grip stock made of a nicely figured and fiddlebacked walnut, with point pattern checkering about the wrist, and a shadowline cheekpiece on left side. Rubber recoil pad over a black line spacer. Housed in a Negrini made Fausti case with sleeves for gun when disassembled for storage, factory paperwork (including test target), scope rail for rib, and a set of Fausti branded QD scope rings. CONDITION: Very good and appears to have only been used a few times since proof. Barrel with some handling marks from the field throughout; one area of rash of left barrel, approximately 3 - 1/2" long. Action with virtually all of the case coloring with some handling marks and superficial scratches from the field that do not detract. Engraving is clean and nicely cut. Stocks are very good with handling and use marks en suite, most noticeable on left side, including some finish rubbing at nose of comb. Mechanically fine, bores are excellent with strong rifling. Case excellent. A nicely handling double rifle for small game.
