Circa 1923. A vintage London best safari double rifle with chopper lump 26" steel belted barrels. Barrels built with ejectors, third fastener, spear point quarter rib, and a stippled, raised bladed spear point front sight with flip-up low light sight. Rear sight with one standing sight regulated for 50 / 200 yards and one folding; both with platinum center line through V cutout. Quarter rib with stippling and crosshatch hand filing. Rib reads ".375 MAGNUM RIMLESS CALIBRE". Left barrel reads "98 NEW BOND STREET, LONDON." Right barrel reads "HOLLAND & HOLLAND". Bottom of barrels with rifles serial number "30448", "W.D.L", "N" and "H&H". Barrel flats read with proofs "NP", "375 EX", and "CORDITE 54-300MAX". Barrels with loop for sling. Slight case colored hardened hand detachable sidelock action with bolstered frame, set disk strikers, third fastener, and double triggers. Front trigger is stippled and articulated. Triggers are protected by a right-hand rolled-edge blacked floral engraved guard. Guard extends to a full-length bottom strap with matched engraving and serial number. Action engraved with traditional Royal scroll and "HOLLAND & HOLLAND" is in banner above gold line cocking indicators. Top lever is blacked, engraved, and with a checkered thumb. Safety slide is also blacked, engraved, and checkered. "SAFE" is in gold. Rifle is built with auto-safe. Traditional reddish brown walnut stock with nice figure, shadow line cheeckpiece, sharp checkered pistol grip, case hardened engraved trap door grip cap, gold oval; loop for sling is strengthened by its long engraved top strap and is finished with a black leather covered pad. Splinter forend with matched checkering, engraving, and Anson release. Rifle lives in a dark brown oak and leather case. Case with small black and gold leather trade label, brass cleaning rod, oil bottle, neva rust oil, Rangoon oil, pull through, patches, pair of .375 snap caps, and keys for case. Case with round brass tablet engraved "GEE". CONDITION: Excellent. Barrels are near perfect with some light handling marks. Action, trigger, and ejectors work well with snap caps. Stock is very good with slight/light handling marks and with light scuffing on leather-covered pad. Forend excellent. Case very good as new to rifle. A very nice double rifle from one of the UK's best.
