Circa 1907. Vintage game guns with 30" chopper lump, London nitro proofed, blacked steel barrels. Barrels are fit with ejectors and 2 - 3/4" chambers. Ribs are smooth, concave and taper. Ribs with small round front beads are numbered "1" and "2" in gold with light floral scroll near breech. Ribs read "BOSS & Co. 73 St. JAMES'S STREET. LONDON". Barrel flats with current London proofs "LPMM", "70MM", "12C", and "1 1/8". Bottoms of barrels are stamped with guns serial numbers "5445" and "5446". The chokes for both barrels are Modified in left barrel and Improved Cylinder in right. Case colored sidelock actions with gold line cocking indicators, single triggers, right hand rolled edged guards, and blacked engraved safe slides with "SAFE" in gold. Top levers are numbered "1" and "2" in gold. Guns are non-auto safe. Water tables are stamped with guns serial numbers. Actions are engraved with traditional rose and scroll bouquets. "BOSS & Co." in banner. Bottom straps are blacked, scroll engraved, and with guns individual serial numbers. Reddish brown walnut stocks with drop points, sharp checkered English straight hand grips, vacant gold ovals, and are finished with black leather covered pads. Splinter forends are numbered "1" and "2" in gold at escutcheons and have scroll engraving on pins, escutcheon, and exterior bottom iron metal. Both with fairly sharp checkering. Gun reside in an older Boss & Co. oak and leather double case. Case with paper trade label and snap caps. Outer case lid reads "P. ALEXANDER", "ROYAL FUSILIERS" (a World War I Army Regiment). CONDITION: Excellent as refurbished. Barrels are excellent, with some light handling marks, probably from storage. Bores are bright. Actions with lots of new case colors. Actions, triggers, and ejectors are mechanically sound. Stocks are excellent as renovated. Forends good as refurbished with evidence of repair to wood on right tip corners. Case good as vintage.
