Circa 1982. A beautiful game gun built by arguably one of Italy's top gunmakers with blued 28" chopper lump nitro proofed barrels. The Vacuum Arc steel barrels have been built with ejectors, 2 - 3/4" chambers, and a hand-filed, raised, tapered rib with round steel bead front sight. Right barrel reads "VACUUM ARC REMELTING STEEL". Left barrel reads "IVO FABBRI BRESCIA ITALY". Barrel flats with Italian proofs, "3420", "CAM,70", "AI", and "I.FABBRI". Barrel bottoms read "KG1.340" and "18.4". Chokes are Improved Cylinder in left barrel and Skeet in right. The coin finished side lock action has been appointed with fantastic hand-engraved illustrations of hunting scenes by master engraver Tomasoni. Left lock plate is engraved with hunter and pointing dog busting a covey of quail over a southern desert terrain. Right lock with several ducks coming in for landing over a marshy pond. Both lock plates are signed "inc Tomasoni" and "IVO FABBRI" at bar. Bottom of action engraved with a hunting dog retrieving a hare from a wooded forest. All illustrations and action supported by tight scroll with floral accents. Action built with Fabbri single inertia trigger, engraved and double checkered thumb top lever, checkered and engraved safe slide; "SAFE" is engraved. Gun is non-auto safe. Trigger is protected by a right-hand rolled edged guard with long bottom strap engraved with scroll and the guns serial number. The Deluxe medium blonde walnut stock with fine point checkering over English straight hand grip is finished by a checkered butt. Full beavertail forend with matched fine checkering is built with an Anson styled push button release. Gun lives in a brown Italian-made Nizzoli case. CODNITION: Very good. Barrels retain mostly all of their original blue with a bit of barrel rub behind the forend at right. Bores are bright. Action, trigger, and ejectors are sound. Action with small scratch on left lock plate. Stock is very good with some slight bruising. Forend very good. Case very good with evidence of use.
