Made by Colt Firearms Company in 1958 (1st year for .44 Special caliber in the 2nd Generation). Rare 5 -1/2" round blued barrel with blade front sight in .44 Special. Barrel has "COLT SINGLE ACTION ARMY 44 SPECIAL" marking on left side and Colt's Hartford address on top. Case-hardened finished frame with matching serial numbers on blued cylinder and trigger guard. Factory finish plain walnut 2-piece grips; this gun was 1 of 30 made this way. All matching numbers with all correct markings. Comes in the correct Colt hinged black factory box with green colored interior, containing original Colt factory cleaning rod and all factory paperwork. PROVENANCE: Don Wilkerson Collection. CONDITION: Overall 98% original factory finish with light turn line. 98% vivid case colors. Good grips with excellent varnish. Good mechanics. Bright bore with visible rifling. Box and papers in good condition with box corners slightly tattered. A very desirable Colt.
