Manufactured in 1950 as a Post-World War II Smith & Wesson Model Pre-27, five screw variation, with desirable 3 - 1/2" barrel chambered in .357 Magnum with ramped blade front sight and checkered walnut grips featuring a Smith & Wesson medallion on both grip panels. Most of the post-War Pre-Model 27s were manufactured with blue finish, making this revolver with nickel finish a rarity. Accompanied by a Smith and Wesson Gold Box with information for a 357 Magnum with nickel finish. Complete with factory letter confirming configuration as well as shipment on June 23, 1950, to Frank Budge Co., Miami, Florida. CONDITION: Excellent+, and near mint, with virtually all of the factory nickel plating remaining, with some light clouding beginning to form on cylinder. Trigger guard and hammer retain brilliant case colors. Cylinder has a slight dragline, but has not worn through the nickel plating. Mechanically fine. Bore shows evidence of light firing with sharp rifling, although fired very litte. Box has some wear at corners but is overall very good.
