Circa 1922. A nice vintage game gun with 28" chopper lump nitro proofed barrels and ejectors. Chamber lengths are 2 - 1/2". Barrels are fit with a smooth, concave, swamped rib and a round steel front bead sight. Rib with floral scroll near breech. Right barrel reads "HOLLAND & HOLLAND". Left barrel reads "98, NEW BOND STREET, LONDON." Barrel flats marked "16", "NITRO PROOF", "1 oz". Tubes stamped "30588", "H&H" and with US importers stamp. Chokes are Modified on left and Skeet on right. The coin finished Holland & Holland patented hand detachable sidelock action with double triggers is handsomely adorned with traditional Royal scroll and bears Holland & Holland in banner above the gold line cocking indicators. Bottom action ahead of trigger plate reads "ROYAL HAMMERLESS EJECTOR". Triggers are protected by a right-hand rolled-edge blacked scroll engraved trigger guard. Trigger guard extends to a full-length blacked bottom strap that is engraved with scroll and the serial number. Blacked top lever and slide safe are both engraved with scrolls; the slide safe is also checkered. "SAFE" is in gold and the gun is non-auto safe. Walnut stock with drop points and diamond grip is finely checkered, has a vacant gold oval, and is finished by a dark brown leather-covered pad. Splinter forend with matching checkering with Anson release has blacked engraved iron metal. Interior iron metal engraved with matching serial number. Gun lives a vintage leather Holland & Holland case with an authentic black and gold case label. CONDITION: Very good. Barrels are good and retain 85% original color. Action, triggers, and ejectors are mechanically sound. Stock and forend with some light handling marks. Case with evidence of use, handling, and storage. Cool gun.
