These attractive guns were manufactured by Rizzini specifically for Gordy & Sons as the brainchild of Mike Burnett after he was tasked to create a new gun after one of Russell Gordy's beloved 32 gauge Westley Richards sets. Designed to be bespoke and more accessible than some of the top echelons of English makers, the guns are built on a 32 gauge sized frame, which has the added benefit of being able to accept 28 gauge and .410 barrels when fitted. 29 - 1/4" mono-bloc barrels with a solid rib equipped with machine cut anti-glare matting and a golden bead front sight. Left side of upper barrel with Rizzini information, right side with Fierce Products importer information and caliber designation. Bottom of barrel flats with modern Italian nitro proofs. Boss style round nose forearm has point pattern checkering and an Anson style plunger release, with the forearm iron extended to allow for more engraving of Acanthus scroll on a stippled background, and "GRAND" in a ribbon at base. Interior of iron with matching serial number. Small boxlock action with game scenes of quail in a meadow on left and right, with wide cut acanthus floral scroll on a blackened stippled ground. Plates are signed "Rizzini" in a ribbon. Bottom on action with a relief "RB" in a wreathed device over "REGAL EXTRA". Engraving is nicely cut and signed at the trigger guard for Bottega Giovaneli. Trigger guard with a long tang that runs to the grip cap protects a single selective trigger and is engraved with acanthus en suite. Steep grip cap with Gordy & Sons monogram, decorated with scroll. Pistol grip stock is a nicely figured and marbled walnut with some light fiddleneck, checkered about the wrist in point panels, and terminates in a checkered butt, with open slot at rear; stock is cast off for a right handed shooter. CONDITION: Excellent, and appears little used since factory. Barrels with virtually all of their bluing with some scattered handling marks and superficial scratches. Forearm is excellent, checkering is sharp. Engraving is crisp and well cut, receiver with essentially all of its coin finish with some minor marks and superficial scratches. Stock excellent, commensurate with forearm. Mechanically fine, bores are excellent, bright and shiny. With their ability to also take 28 gauge and .410 barrels, these guns are sure to please.
