Ed Brown is a well-regarded name in the boutique 1911 community, and has been active since 1968. This is a scarce Centennial Edition made to commemorate the 100th year of the 1911 platform; these were made in two runs, one a more restrained Executive Elite, and a fancier Classic Custom, which this one is. Ed Brown black-on-black target sights, front drift adjustable, rear click adjustable, with serrated rib to reduce glare. Hand cut acanthus scroll engraving throughout slide, nicely cut with what appears to be a pneumatic engraver, with "CUSTOM BY Ed Brown" in a vignette on the right side, left with "Centennial Edition / 1911 - 2011". Rear of slide serrated to reduce glare. Frame is extensively engraved en suite with acanthus scrollwork, including grip safety, thumb safety, and slide release. 3-hole trigger, lightened commander hammer, extended magazine release, thin grip panels, and beavertail grip safety. Ed Brown magazine with slampad. In the Ed Brown navy bag with 2 additional flush-fit Ed Brown magazines, oil bottle, allen keys, manual, and cable lock. Trigger guard still has the Ed Brown hangtag attached. CONDITION: Excellent, and appears to have only been test fired only. Some extremely mild marks from handling and storage, most likely shop wear. Grips excellent, engraving crisp. Mechanically fine, bore is excellent with strong rifling and some mild frosting towards chamber. Case excellent. These pistols were only produced in 2011 and retail was in the $7,000 range.
